IndesignInc bridges the gap between clients looking for design expertise and interior designers seeking quality projects.
Together with the Indesign Inc. team we built a platform where client can define their space and goals, and are instantly matched with a curated list of verified professionals. Once matched, they can start a contract, exchange ideas, share files, and manage the entire project from design brief to final approval - all within one workspace.
Our mandate was to design and build a platform that combines the reliability of a marketplace with the depth of a project management tool- helping both sides communicate clearly, track progress, and maintain transparency throughout the engagement.
Interior design collaborations are deeply visual and iterative - they rely on trust, clarity, and frequent feedback.
Before IndesignInc, clients juggled long email threads, shared drives, and inconsistent contracts, while designers struggled to qualify leads and get paid reliably. The platform had to solve three critical problems:
Trust and fit. Match clients with the right designers based on budget, style, and project type.
Clarity and collaboration. Provide a unified space for chat, file sharing, milestones, and feedback loops.
Continuity. Allow projects and relationships to extend naturally - clients can start new projects with the same designer, keeping their full history intact.
At its core, IndesignInc needed to feel as intuitive as Upwork but tailored to the design process - visual, structured, and distinctly premium.
We developed Indesign around three pillars - discovery, collaboration, and continuity. Ensuring each phase of the design journey was smooth and transparent.
Discovery & Matching (Platform) – Clients create a project brief defining their goals, space type, budget, and preferred aesthetics. A matching engine filters a pool of vetted designers based on expertise, availability, and location, producing a shortlist of the most compatible options.
Contracts & Communication (Experience) – Once a designer is chosen, both parties move into a dedicated workspace that mirrors Upwork’s simplicity: structured messaging, milestone tracking, shared file storage, and integrated payments. Milestones define progress; each phase (concept, revision, delivery) has its own space for feedback and uploads.
Designer Dashboard (Platform) – Designers manage multiple active contracts from a single view, track client messages, and receive notifications for approvals or payment releases. An integrated proposal builder streamlines quoting and onboarding new clients.
Client Continuity (Experience) – Clients can start follow-up projects with the same designer using saved preferences and previous project data. A persistent communication thread ensures no context is lost across engagements.
Trust & Safety (Platform) – Identity verification, escrow payments, and dispute resolution provide confidence for both sides. Activity logs and message histories ensure accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
